Paul D. Shelton

Paul Shelton is a Partner with McKennon Shelton & Henn whose practice focuses on the areas of finance, project development, corporate and business transactions, governmental relations, and litigation. In addition to his over 30 years of general financing experience, Paul has substantial experience in the development and implementation of water, wastewater, solid waste and parking financings, and master lease programs. Projects financed have included transportation facilities, hospitals and other health care facilities, schools, office complexes, public buildings, water and wastewater facilities, solid waste disposal facilities, and a wide variety of other facilities. Paul has also represented public and private clients in state and local legislative activities and certain public law litigation matters. Paul has served as outside general counsel to a wide variety of medium and small enterprises throughout the region. He provides general legal advice to clients in matters of contracts, partnership formations, acquisitions, financial transactions, internal corporate investigations, finance leasing, insurance coverage, fraud, unfair competition, landlord-tenant disputes, and day-to-day operations. Paul has represented companies and individuals in white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions. He represents many faith-based and non-profit organizations as their outside general counsel.

Paul is a member of the Maryland bar as well as the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore City Bar Association, the Monumental City Bar Association, and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He was an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law for four years teaching legal analysis, legal writing, litigation strategies, and drafting of pleadings and discovery requests for the moot court program. He previously served as the Managing Partner of McKennon Shelton & Henn for 20 years. Paul was a partner of Piper & Marbury for 10 years before the founding of McKennon Shelton & Henn LLP. At Piper & Marbury, he served as the Partner-in-Charge of its downtown Baltimore office. He is active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Frances Academy.
